We collect as little as possible.

Most visitors give us no personal data at all. We use no tracking cookies, no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics that follow you across sites. Fonts and assets are served from our own domain.
What we collect, and why
- Speak Up submissions — the text you write and any optional details you choose to give (display name, age group, county, country, email). Political opinions are sensitive personal data under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 and the EU/UK GDPR, so we process them only with your explicit consent, to moderate and possibly publish your submission.
- Security logs — technical data such as IP addresses, kept for no more than 7 days to protect the site from abuse.
- Aggregate statistics — anonymous, cookieless page-view counts.
How long we keep it
Submissions are deleted or anonymised after 12 months (the published version, if any, remains). Rejected submissions are deleted after 90 days. Optional emails are encrypted and kept only with the submission.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us through counsel; we respond within 30 days.
